Itinerary Details:

Days 1: Drive to Aberdare National Park (Appx 3Hrs):

An early start sees you leaving Nairobi after breakfast, embarking on a scenic drive to the Aberdares, a journey that takes you through Central Kenya with views of sisal, tea, and coffee plantations along the way. Upon arriving at Aberdare, you’ll be warmly welcomed for lunch at Aberdare Country Club the base hotel for The Ark Lodge. After lunch, you will be transferred to The Ark for game viewing and overnight with the lodge vehicle. In the afternoon, you will have time at leisure game viewing from the balcony of the lodge for the animals that come around the waterholes until evening. Note- you only need a soft bag with overnight essentials. The other bags will be left at the Aberdare Country Club. You will also say goodbye to your guide since you will not be seeing them until the next morning as the lodge driver guides take charge.

Day 2: Drive to Lake Nakuru (Appx 3Hrs):

Arriving at your chosen lodge or camp, you’ll check in and enjoy a satisfying lunch that rejuvenates you for the afternoon activities. The afternoon is dedicated to a game drive, where you’ll have the chance to witness the awe-inspiring sight of birdlife on the lake’s shores, as well as spot rhinos, giraffes, and other wildlife against the backdrop of the picturesque lake. The drive to the lake will take approximately two hours, offering picturesque views along the way. Upon arrival, you will promptly check in at your lodge, allowing for a seamless transition. Once you have settled in and enjoyed a satisfying lunch, take a moment to relax before embarking on an exciting afternoon boat safari. This unique experience will provide you with a spectacular opportunity to witness the diverse and captivating birdlife, as well as observe the graceful presence of hippos, all amidst the tranquil ambiance of this freshwater rift valley lake. Following the boat safari, you will proceed to enjoy a guided walking safari at the renowned Crescent Island, further enriching your connection with nature. The island offers a remarkable chance to explore on foot and encounter wildlife up close. Afterward, return to your lodge, where you can indulge in the delightful tradition of High Tea, followed by a delicious dinner. Upon arrival, you will check in at your camp, immersing yourself in the wild beauty that awaits. Lunch will be served at the open restaurant, providing a remarkable vantage point overlooking the vast plains of the Masai Mara. You will have the opportunity to relish your meal while marveling at the scenic surroundings. Afterward, take some time to unwind and recharge. In the afternoon, around 4:00 pm, prepare for an exhilarating game drive, venturing into the enchanting realm of the Mara. Keep a keen eye out for lions, cheetahs as well as other fascinating wildlife encounters, such as leopards, hyenas, and hippos. Around 6:00 pm, return to your camp, where you can freshen up or choose to join one of the camp’s captivating bonfires or lounges. As you enter the village guided by your expert, villagers clad in vibrant red Shuka attire will gather, initiating joyful songs and spirited jumps. Feel welcome to join this celebration, where Maasai men leap energetically to attract women, complemented by the melodious voices of women. Following this exhilarating start, delve into personal interactions with the Maasai. Villagers will guide you to their Manyattas, inviting conversations and questions, and fostering genuine cultural exchange. Translations by your guide bridge language barriers. You can even try spear throwing and long jumps, traditional warrior practices showcasing their skill. Step inside houses to witness daily life, though you may find them cozy yet dim. After the village tour, explore shops offering Maasai jewelry and handicrafts. We're pleased we chose them

All our pre booked excursions were top class. The highlight being our pre-dawn hot air balloon safari. Can be cold due to morning chill but worth it. Hotel adequate and food was great. Stayed in luxury tented camp, exactly what we wanted, a deep connection with nature. The visit to Maasai Village was fantastic for the kids. Overall expensive but a great experience.
