Masai Mara National Reserve
One of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves
Home » Destinations » National Reserve »
Masai Mara National Reserve is one of Africa’s Greatest Wildlife Reserves, located in southwest Kenya. The classic Masai Mara safari has several attractions since the reserve is home to a great year-round concentration of wildlife, including the famous Great Migration of over two million wildebeest, zebras, and other antelopes. With plentiful elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, and cheetah among migrating wildebeests and zebra, the reserve is a photographer’s and naturalist’s dream. Leopards are common, endangered black rhinos hide in impenetrable thickets, and the Mara River is home to massive rafts of hippo and monster crocodiles. Over 450 bird species can be seen in the reserve.
