Elsamere Lodge

Elsamere Lodge is a historic conservation and eco-tourism facility located on the shores of Lake Naivasha in Kenya. The lodge was once the home of Joy Adamson, the author of the famous book and movie “Born Free”, and was also a popular hangout spot for the likes of Ernest Hemingway and Karen Blixen. Visitors to the lodge can enjoy activities such as boat rides on the lake, bird watching, and visiting the Joy Adamson museum. The lodge also offers comfortable accommodations and delicious local cuisine, and there’s a resident herd of wild animals that visitors can spot around the property. The Lodge is also known for its dedication to conservation and community development projects in the surrounding area.
Accommodation:
Elsamere accommodates 16 guests in cottages located in the gardens surrounding the main house. Each cottage has a veranda that overlooks the lake. The rooms are bright and appealing, and they all have private bathrooms. Guests may also choose to stay in the main house in the Joy Adamson bedroom, which is easily accessible by wheelchair.
