Treetops Lodge
A charmingly rustic atmosphere
Treetops Lodge, built-in 1932 on an ancient elephant migratory route through Aberdare National Park, is where Queen Elizabeth II visited as a princess and left as queen. Today the lodge has grown from a rustic platform in the branches of an ancient tree to a large stilted lodge with 36 rooms – all while retaining the essence of the original treehouse style. A permanent waterhole and natural salt lick in front of the lodge are floodlit at night, attracting an incredible diversity of wildlife both day and night.
Accommodation:
Treetops Lodge has 36 rooms with a charmingly rustic log-cabin feel, comfortable twin or double beds, earthy natural colors, and a nostalgic colonial style. Each room has an en-suite bathroom. There are three spacious suites, each with a snug lounge, a deep bathtub, and a shower. All rooms face the waterhole; a buzzer alerts you when wildlife is present, so you don’t have to be on guard all the time.
