Before traveling to Kenya, international travelers must have an Electronic Travel Authority. To apply for your eTA for travel to Kenya, visit the official website at: https://www.etakenya.go.ke/en/enroll/intro
Note that all holders of a valid Kenya e-visa issued for travel in 2024, and children under 18 years who are accompanying e-visa holders, do not need an eTA to enter Kenya. Currently, to apply for an eTA one must part ways with US $30 plus a $2.50 service charge which may be subject to change and this eTA only allows entry to Kenya once and expires when the visitor leaves the country.
Those traveling, who intend to make several entries into Kenya after visiting neighboring countries like Tanzania, Uganda, or Rwanda, are only required to get the first eTA. On arrival in Kenya, travelers will be given a Visitor’s Pass, which allows them to re-enter Kenya after visiting the above-mentioned countries.
Because processing can take time, we do recommend visitors apply for a Kenyan eTA at least three days before travel. Applications can be lodged up to three months in advance of travel dates. It’s advisable to apply promptly after booking travel arrangements in Kenya.
Children under 18 years of age should also have their eTAs while traveling, the application made by the legal guardian, or an accompanying adult. Essential information required at the time of application includes A passport valid for at least six months after arrival in Kenya, with one blank page; a selfie or passport-type photo; and contact information like home address and email address along with a phone number.
Also needed are details of arrival and departure flights, including flight numbers, plus accommodation confirmation, such as hotel bookings or travel itineraries. The accepted modes of payment include credit/debit cards and Apple Pay, among others.
In case contact information of a local tour operator is needed when applying, use the following:
ATOLO AFRICA TRAVEL GROUP LIMITED
Host Telephone Number: +254793051774/+254714685341
Host Email: sales@kenyawildparks.com
Upon successful application submission and payment receipt confirmation email will be sent containing your reference number. Another email notification will follow once your application has been approved.
You can monitor your application status anytime using your reference number at https://www.etakenya.go.ke.
Once approved, remember to save the issued eTA as a PDF on your mobile device and keep a printed copy handy, as it must be presented at all entry and exit points during your travels.
