The name of Ndere Island is derived from the Luo tribe and means “gathering place”Ndere Island was set up as a park in November 1986 and remains an uninhabited region. You will be picked up from your Kisumu hotel early in the morning and driven to Kaloka Beach, where your boat will connect to Ndere Island. Fish Eagles and a large number of Swifts inhabit Ndere Island. Hippos and crocodiles, especially the less well-known Spotted Crocodile, are common sights in the area. Impalas have been reintroduced to the shoreline woods. Hiking, strolling, traditional fishing, and optional boat excursions are just a few of the activities available. You will have your picnic lunches before being transported by boat to Kaloka, where you will be met by your driver and transferred to Kisumu to conclude your tour.
