This one-day trip covers the smallest island in Kenya’s Winam Gulf, Ndere Island which is part of Lake Victoria. The park was established in November 1986 and has remained uninhabited ever then. In the Luo tribe, Ndere means “gathering place.” A variety of birds, hippos, crocodiles, and impalas call the island home. Hiking, walking, and picnicking are among the activities included in this private full-day tour.

Itinerary Details:

Day 1: Ndere Island National Park

You will be picked up from your Kisumu hotel early in the morning and driven to Kaloka beach, where your boat will connect to Ndere Island. Fish Eagles and a large number of Swifts inhabit Ndere Island. Hippos and crocodiles, especially the less well-known Spotted Crocodile, are common sights in the area. Impalas have been reintroduced to the shoreline woods. Hiking, strolling, traditional fishing, and optional boat excursions are just a few of the activities available. You will have your picnic lunches before being transported by boat to Kaloka, where you will be met by your driver and transferred to Kisumu to conclude your tour.
