Embark on a private full-day tour to Ndere Island, the smallest island situated in Kenya’s Winam Gulf, which is a part of Lake Victoria. Ndere Island, meaning “gathering place” in the Luo tribe, was established as a park in November 1986 and has since remained uninhabited. The island is home to a diverse range of fauna, including birds, hippos, crocodiles, and impalas. Take part in activities like hiking, walking, and picnicking amidst the beautiful natural surroundings. This is an excellent opportunity to experience the island’s unique ecosystem and marvel at the incredible wildlife.

Itinerary Details:

Day 1: Ndere Island National Park

You will be picked up from your Kisumu hotel early in the morning and driven to Kaloka beach, where your boat will connect to Ndere Island. Fish Eagles and a large number of Swifts inhabit Ndere Island. Hippos and crocodiles, especially the less well-known Spotted Crocodile, are common sights in the area. Impalas have been reintroduced to the shoreline woods. Hiking, strolling, traditional fishing, and optional boat excursions are just a few of the activities available. You will have your picnic lunches before being transported by boat to Kaloka, where you will be met by your driver and transferred to Kisumu to conclude your tour.
