This 8-day Kenya Offbeat Safari covers Samburu, Lewa, and Mara North. Itinerary Details:

Day 1: Nairobi

On arrival into Nairobi airport you will be met and briefed on your safari before being transferred to our hotel in the Karen suburbs.

Day 2: Fly to Samburu Game Reserve (Kalama Conservancy)

Our driver will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel at and transfer you to Wilson Airport for your flight to Samburu. Here you’ll be met by your guide from Saruni Samburu and transferred to the lodge, with an optional game drive en route. Saruni Samburu is the only lodge in the Kalama Conservancy, which borders the Samburu Game Reserve. It’s renowned for its chic, eco-friendly design, with full-board accommodation and a complimentary back and neck massage included in your stay. Take time to settle into your suite, then embark on an afternoon game drive through the 200,000-acre pristine wilderness of the Kalama Conservancy.

Day 3-4: Samburu Game Reserve (2 Nights)

Enjoy two full days of game drives through the Samburu Game Reserve in search of the “Samburu Special Five” reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, beisa oryx, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, which are all uncommon and only found in this section of Kenya. You may also be treated to sightings of elephants, lions, and leopards, as well as a bush picnic lunch. You will also be treated to a complimentary half-hour massage at the Samburu Wellbeing Space as well as bush dinner under the stars in the middle of the wilderness and a performance of Samburu warriors dancing around the campfire.

Day 5: Drive to Lewa Conservancy

After breakfast at Saruni Samburu, depart Samburu for the two-hour drive to the Elewana Lewa Safari Camp in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Relax at the swimming pool, which overlooks a wildlife-filled marsh, after settling into your exquisite safari tent. Head out on an evening wildlife drive in the late afternoon, complete with sundowners and breathtaking views.

Day 6-7: Lewa Conservancy (2 Nights)

Spend two full days in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, with morning and afternoon game drives in search of the “Big Five” and the abundant wildlife that congregates around the swamp. Stop by the rhino sanctuary to meet their hand-reared rhinos, then head to the Ngare Ndare Forest Canopy Walkway and Blue Glacial Pools, both of which are part of the Mount Kenya ecosystem’s high-altitude tropical cedar woods.

Day 8: Fly to Mara North Conservancy

Transfer to the airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara, which departs at 09:35 a.m. and arrives at 1100 a.m. Upon arriving in Masai Mara, you will be met and transferred to your Camp in the Camp’s shared vehicle. The rest of the program will follow the Camp’s timetable.

Day 9-10: Mara North Conservancy (2 Nights)

Enjoy two days of game viewing with Morning & afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Game includes: – elephant, Black Rhino, buffalo, wildebeest, Burchell’s zebra, hartebeest, various antelope and gazelle, lion, leopard, giraffe, cheetah, hippo, crocodile and much more.

Days 11: Departure

After a last game drive in the Masai Mara, fly back to Nairobi on your scheduled flight. Sample one of Nairobi’s excellent restaurants before transferring to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight home
