There are 12 luxury tents with solid wood and grass-tile roofs mounted on fairly high concrete and stonework plinths. Their polished wooden floors, rugs, and rustic wooden furniture are more comfortable and homey than stylish, in keeping with Satao Elerai’s overall approach and giving the camp a more mature feel than its youth would suggest. Each tent can be set up as a double or twin, with a writing or dressing table, folding directors’ chairs, and cushioned recliners on the veranda facing Kilimanjaro. Two family tents, each sleeping up to four people, are best suited for those traveling with small children because they are the same size as the standard tents.
