Hotel Options in Nairobi:

Day 2: Fly to Enonkishu Conservancy

Transfer to Wilson Airport in Nairobi for a 45-minute flight to Naretoi or Ngerende airstrip, where you will be met by one of the hotel guides and driven to House in the Wild, a 15-minute game drive away (only 5 minutes from Naretoi), where you will be shown your room and have time to settle in, swim, or relax before lunch.
At around 4 p.m., you will depart for the Enonkishu and Ol Choro Conservation Areas, a vital wildlife refuge on the outskirts of the Mara Serengeti ecosystem. This area is home to a resident lion pride, a cheetah family, and a Wild Dog den in the woodlands on the Kileleoni Hill (the highest point of the Mara). After that, you’ll pause for sundowners on the plains before returning to House in the Wild, where a bonfire and a great supper await you.

Day 3: Enonkishu Conservancy

Early morning wake-up call and depart for your game drive to watch the sunrise over the plains of the Lemek conservancy, with a packed breakfast. You’ll have the opportunity to visit the Mara Elephant Project headquarters and learn about the conservation work being done to safeguard the Mara’s elephants before returning to House in the Wild for lunch by the pool.
An afternoon visit to the Mara Training Centre and Enonkishu Headquarters, where you can learn about the Futures in the Wild program, as well as how Enonkishu works with communities on a livestock program called “Herds for Growth,” a regenerative grazing project with mobile predator proof bomas, and the education program where schools participate in wildlife conservation. You can also visit the Wild Shamba, where the majority of the vegetables for the home kitchens are sourced. Meet the Maasai women who run the shamba and the indigenous tree nursery, and participate in the arboretum project by planting an indigenous tree. If you’re interested in beading, you can do so with the females as well. You will then drive up to the Rhino Sanctuary on the crest of the hill, where you will see the rhinos and enjoy a sundowner with a view of the huge plains. Later, return for a dinner by the fire.

Day 4: Enonkishu Conservancy

Start your day with a cup of coffee and a stroll along the Naretoi roads in search of tracks and birds, followed by breakfast by the river. If you’re looking for a more strenuous exercise, the Kileleoni Hill Climb with the KWS armed ranger is an option. Back to House in the Wild, have lunch before exploring the grounds, swimming, playing ping-pong or croquet, or catfish fishing in the river. Afternoon tour to the cattle bomas, followed by a trip to the local Manyatta (Maasai Village) and a bush meal at the Memusi waterhole in Enonkishu.
