The tour starts with 7.30 am pick-up from Nairobi. Drive to Lake Naivasha and Hell’s Gate National Park, stopping to take in views of the Great Rift Valley from a scenic overlook en route.
Arrive at Hell’s Gate National park at around 9.30am and take a 2-hour guided bike tour. Look out for herds of Thompson’s gazelle, eland, zebra, and hartebeest as you ride. Keep an eye on the sky throughout the tour, as Hell’s Gate National Park is home to over 100 species of birds, including Verreaux’s eagles, augur buzzards, vulture, and swifts.
Continue on foot into the park’s unique gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock.
After 1-hour walk, proceed to Elsamere for lunch.After lunch, take a 2-hour boat tour to explore Lake Naivasha wildlife and end the tour with a walking safari on Crescent Island. Watch out for hippos lingering just at the surface of the water, and look out to see some of the diverse birdlife, such as African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe—very common here.
At 1700 hours, begin the journey back to Nairobi, and conclude the day with drop-off in Nairobi at around 1900 hours.

It was fantastic, from the time we booked to each part of the holiday, we are very lucky to spot all of the Big Five. The transport between each location was handled by Paul who were friendly and lovely to spend time with. The locations were fabulous, the highlight being Masai Mara Game Reserve!

All our pre booked excursions were top class. The highlight being our pre-dawn hot air balloon safari. Can be cold due to morning chill but worth it. Hotel adequate and food was great. Stayed in luxury tented camp, exactly what we wanted, a deep connection with nature. The visit to Maasai Village was fantastic for the kids. Overall expensive but a great experience.
