Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve (Approx. 5 Hours)

Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or place of residence by our professional driver-guide. After a short briefing, we set out on a scenic journey towards the southwest, heading into the heart of Kenya’s safari country.

Along the way, we will make a stop at the famous Great Rift Valley viewpoint, one of Africa’s most breathtaking landscapes. This vantage point offers panoramic views of the world’s largest valley, a geological wonder stretching thousands of kilometers. It’s the perfect spot to stretch your legs, take photographs, and marvel at the natural beauty before continuing your drive.

As we approach Masai Mara, the landscape gradually transforms from farmland to open savannah, dotted with acacia trees and the occasional sighting of wildlife even before entering the park. On arrival, you will check in to your lodge or camp in time for lunch and some relaxation before your first taste of safari excitement.

In the afternoon, at around 4:00 PM, we embark on your first game drive inside the Masai Mara National Reserve. This is your first real opportunity to spot some of Africa’s iconic wildlife—majestic lions, graceful giraffes, massive elephants, and perhaps even a leopard lurking in the tall grass. As the sun begins to set over the Mara plains, the sky transforms into a canvas of gold and crimson, creating a magical backdrop to your safari.

We return to the lodge around 6:00 PM where a warm dinner awaits. Overnight stay at the lodge or camp.

Day 2: Full Day Game Viewing in Masai Mara

For those who opt for early morning excitement, your day will start at around 6:15 AM with a sunrise game drive. This is one of the best times to spot predators such as lions and hyenas as they are most active during the cooler hours. Returning to the camp around 9:00 AM, you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before relaxing at the lodge or preparing for your next outing.

After lunch, you will head out again around 3:30 PM for an afternoon game drive, exploring different sections of the vast Masai Mara. Expect encounters with herds of elephants, prides of lions lounging under trees, and cheetahs scanning the horizon for prey. If you’re lucky, you may even witness a dramatic predator hunt—a truly unforgettable sight.

Alternatively, you may choose to take a full-day game drive with a packed picnic lunch. This option allows you to venture deeper into the reserve, covering more ground and increasing your chances of spotting the elusive Big Five—lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. The picnic lunch is enjoyed in a designated spot in the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wilderness.

As evening falls, return to camp for dinner, relaxation, and another overnight stay under the starry skies of the Mara.

As per the latest park rules, all visitors are expected to exit the Masai Mara before 10:00 AM. The return drive takes you back through the scenic Rift Valley and typically reaches Nairobi by early afternoon, around 2:30 PM. Depending on your travel plans, you will either be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or transferred directly to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight home.
