Porini Rhino Camp
An ideal base for viewing the rhinos after which the camp is named
One of the defining characteristics of Porini Rhino Camp is its strong emphasis on conservation and sustainability. The camp is deeply involved in local community initiatives, working closely with members of the Selenkay Maasai community from southern Kenya. By integrating local knowledge and traditions, the camp enhances the guest experience while promoting responsible tourism. The camp operates with a low-impact philosophy, ensuring that its presence does not disrupt the delicate ecosystem of Ol Pejeta Conservancy.
Secluded and Comfortable Accommodation
Porini Rhino Camp features eight well-spaced tented rooms, each offering a stunning view of the surrounding plains and a small watering hole that attracts wildlife. These tents are designed to provide comfort and a true bush experience without compromising on essential amenities.
Each tent is made entirely of canvas with a sturdy vinyl floor covered in rugs, creating a cozy yet functional living space. The front veranda is equipped with a table and chairs, providing a peaceful spot for guests to relax and take in the sights and sounds of the wilderness. Inside, the decor is simple and unpretentious, prioritizing practicality over extravagance. The furniture includes a double bed and a single bed, a small writing desk, and a luggage stand, offering a comfortable yet rustic feel.
Notably, all tents share the same configuration. For guests opting for a twin arrangement, one person will have a double bed while the other will have a single bed. The camp’s focus on providing an authentic safari experience means that while the accommodation is comfortable, it remains in harmony with its natural surroundings.
