Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy
The place of peace
The Namunyak Wildlife Conservancy covers an area of approximately 75,000 hectares and is folded around the southern corner of northern Kenya’s fabled Mathews Mountain range. The proud Samburu tribes people live here, a group of semi-nomadic pastoralists who have long tolerated the wildlife that coexists with their cattle. The Trust was established in 1995 with the goal of promoting wildlife conservation and assisting the local community in reaping the benefits of tourism in exchange for protecting the wildlife species that live on their land.
