Naboisho Conservancy
Home to the highest lion densities in the world
The Naboisho Conservancy forms a 50,000-acre reserve known not only for its outstanding biodiversity but also for ensuring that tourism is developed sustainably. The Conservancy boasts one of the highest densities of lions anywhere on the planet, and the largest pride found in this region boasts an enviable 20 lions. The conservancy also boasts healthy populations of elephants, giraffes, wildebeests, and zebras-a dynamic food chain in which the iconic Great Migration often passes through. It is also home to the endangered African Wild Dogs, furthering its ecological importance.
What makes Naboisho unique, even in the difference it makes, is the commitment to the preservation of this pristine environment while offering a world-class safari experience. Strict limitations are placed on the number of camps and vehicles inside the conservancy to ensure a minimum environmental footprint with no crowding in wildlife viewing. This exclusiveness guarantees those moments in nature that always leave one in awe, bereft of crowds that characterize larger national parks.
From the thrill of viewing lions in hunt mode to excitement at herds of elephants that stride majestically across the savannah, or a view of wild dogs, Naboisho Conservancy gives any visitor an experience he or she will hardly forget. This is one of Kenya’s best safari destinations-a perfect balance between nature conservation and tourism that gives a very rare feel of an encounter with nature at its best.
