Mara Toto Camp is hidden away in a grove of trees, away from lights, noise, and any sign of humankind – the ideal camp to stay in Kenya during your Masai Mara safari. Its humble main area is lit by lantern and candlelight, simple in design, but just enough for all the comforts, under the canopy of African ebony trees. It’s safari chic, with four light and airy, spacious canvas tents, each with an en-suite bathroom and piping hot water from huge brass ‘safari showers’ to the sound of hippos lazing nearby. This camp’s atmosphere and ‘back to the basics’ safari design will be a hit with private groups and safari enthusiasts.
Accommodation:
The camp is made up of five custom-designed tents made of light-colored flowing canvas that are open on the horizontal side and have canopied ceilings. This camp is designed for those who want the specifics of a Great Plains property but are willing to forego some of the fancier amenities. It is located on the ground level and is shaded by the riverine forest.
