Galana River Conservancy
An important unfenced buffer zone between Tsavo East and Galana
Galana River Conservancy is a 60,000-acre wildlife haven for some of the world’s most famous and rare African wildlife species. It is located on the eastern border of Tsavo East National Park and on the northern banks of the Galana River. The conservancy serves as a vital unfenced buffer zone between Tsavo East National Park and the vast agricultural lands of the Galana and Kulalu Ranches, both of which are managed by the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC). Since 2008, the conservancy has worked with local communities, international NGOs, and the ADC to protect this vital environment and the beautiful wildlife that lives there.
