Mount Longonot National Park is a protected area located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, about 90km northwest of Nairobi. The park is named after its main feature, Mount Longonot, a stratovolcano that last erupted in the 1860s. Visitors to the park can enjoy hiking and climbing to the crater rim, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, as well as wildlife viewing, with opportunities to see buffaloes, zebras, warthogs, and bushbuck. The park is also home to several species of birds, including the francolin, guinea fowl, and the endangered eagles.
