Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park
A protected sanctuary of coral reefs and small islands
Home » Destinations » Marine Parks »
Kisite Mpunguti Marine Park is a protected sanctuary of coral reefs and small islands that is home to dolphins, turtles, and an abundance of fish and sea birds. Visitors can take a dhow cruise to explore the reefs, islands, and aquatic life of this vibrant reserve, which is not far from the coastal city of Mombasa and even closer to Diani beach. While exploring this vibrant aquatic sanctuary, look for blue parrotfish, octopus, clams, sea cucumbers, reef sharks, and occasionally migrating Humpback whales. Over 200 of these vivacious and friendly cetaceans – spinner, humpback, and bottle-nosed – call the reef home. Visitors who are fortunate enough can sometimes swim with these rambunctious creatures.
